All About Love Jersey was started in the beginning of 2018 by friends Steph, Lucy and Hannah who decided to combine their love of handmade gifts and decor such as dream catchers and prints, with events planning and styling. The trio are passionate about beautiful things and high quality and aim always to make the ordinary extraordinary.

“It can be a tough gig as a small business so be proud of everything you create."

Tell us about your path to setting up your business and what motivated you?

Lucy and I had spoken about wanting to set up a creative business together for many years having become friends when we were both working as journalists in the island but it took a push from our business brain Steph to finally launch All About Love at the beginning of 2018. All three of us had a desire to have a creative outlet and turn what had become a hobby to produce handmade gifts into a business.

How do you work and what is a typical day like for you?

With six children between us there is no such thing as a typical day and many evenings are spent huddled together around one of our kitchen tables hand painting wedding signs or designing the creatives for an event. This year has been a huge learning curve and enabled us to grow and develop to ensure the best outcome for our customers and clients.

What are the best parts about your business?

The freedom to create whatever we want and to see our visions and our clients visions come to life

What has been your greatest struggle as a business owner so far?

So far we have been incredibly lucky that we’ve encountered only positives but we are ensuring we build a large group of small business contacts so that we can draw on that wealth of experience if and when it is needed. If pushed for a negative we would say it’s trying to find enough hours in the day to fit in all the the things we’d love to do!

What has been your biggest a-ha moment so far?

The biggest a-ha’s have to be the firsts, the first sale, the first none friend or family customer and the first meeting with the first stockist when we realised what potential there was out there and really inspired us.

Do you have any advice for other small business owners?

As the new kids on the block we are reluctant to give out advice, what we would say is trust your instincts and enjoy everything you are doing. It can be a tough gig as a small business so be proud of everything you create.

What currently inspires you?

Well who wouldn’t be inspired by Jersey? Its people and its places are our biggest source of inspiration and provide us with all the best puns, which we love!

We’d just like to say thank you to everyone so far, we are really excited for the future! And we always love a challenge so if anyone has any new ideas or bespoke requests please get in touch.
