Tell us about your path to setting up your business and what motivated you?

I was drawn to photography rather late when in 2010 I acquired a small point and shoot Harinezumi which I remember taking on walks and drives in and around Jersey capturing unique shots and video edits to accompany some of the music I was making at the time, I was really inspired by Jersey and the coast and its unique charm that it has. Since then I have enjoyed shooting and acquiring other types of media to experiment with from polaroid, 35mm and digital. I enjoy the aesthetic of film and analogue shooting and enjoy creating images that capture that.

How do you work and what is a typical day like for you?

A typical day for me is a mix of studio and out and about trying to find unique spots whether in St Helier or elsewhere. Working in a small team on location or just me and a model trying to get that perfect shot. I'm also involved in the general operations so my day is different everyday and a mix throughout the week... balance is key and usually fuelled by coffee haha.

What are the best parts about your business?

I get to be creative and love the editing and publishing process too.

What has been your greatest struggle as a business owner so far?

Not second guessing myself.

What has been your biggest a-ha moment so far?

Getting some recognition from big brands and local publishing outlets, that's always good to know you're heading in the right direction but also little things like subtle light changes in and out of the studio that can change the look and feel of the shoot.

Do you have any advice for other small business owners?

Stay focused and communicate your ideas effectively and confidently.
