Brontey Luxo-Piazza is the independant designer behind her family run business 'The Loving Chair Co'. founded in 2012. Brontey specialises in creating intricate patterns using bold shapes and vivid colours often inspired by her love of nature and eye for surrealism. Brontey offers a bespoke service within the business allowing customers to tailor her prints to fit in with their own interior schemes. With a niche manufacturing team in Porto, together they create traditionally made furniture pieces and soft furnishings with real wow factor!

Tell us about your path to setting up your business and what motivated you?

When returning to Jersey after studying at Kingston university I found myself at a cross roads, I was working a desk job however my love to create surface print was stronger than ever! After many family discussions around the kitchen table we agreed that our family skills put together could create a business tailored to all of our passions.

How do you work and what is a typical day like for you?

Day to day I can be found at The Loving Chair Company headquarters based on Bathstreet. I spend my days designing, managing the shop and looking after customer orders.

What are the best parts about your business?

The bespoke side of the business really excites me! Having our own frame makers means we have endless options as to what we can make! Turning customers dreams into a reality is very special!

What has been your greatest struggle as a business owner so far?

Breaking the mold that we only do bright pattern and re-upholstery! The Loving chair co. is known for it's icon prints which we think is wonderful but we understand it is not for everyone! Since obtaining the factory we now create more mainstream furniture that can be made up in traditional and plain fabrics.
